Poem - Two worlds exist

Two worlds exist.
A delicate balance of earth and sky, of sun and moon.
A loss of one would mean the loss of two.

One world so fast.
A flurry of color, people, sights and sounds
The race to keep up and stay within bounds.

The signal lights tell it all.
Cars speed by, trucks go with the flow.
Sidewalks full of people, they stop and go.

The wail of a sirens.
It beckons and calls over the cities dull roar.
Reminding us all of what can be in store.

The sky so gray.
The factories and autos all add to the cloud.
Hiding the blue, not making us proud.

The other world so calm.
The fields of greens and yellows swaying so free.
Over hills and valleys, as far as you can see.

The trees stand true.
The wind and rain add to the sway and dance.
Each tree and brush keep its faithful stance.

The clouds so white.
For miles and miles, the earth chases the sky.
The horizon so far, you can't touch it, no matter how hard you try.

The peace of it all.
Gone are the horns, siren and roar, all so wrong.
Replaced with dogs barking, horses neighing, birds chirping in song.

Two worlds exist.
Where are these worlds that seems so apart?
The one world I live, the other, in my heart.

Poem - The Sounds of My World

The Sounds of My World,

I close my eyes for a minute as I walk to work...
I hear the low roar of the city.
I hear the distance thumping of construction workers.
I hear the distinct shrill of an ambulance.
I hear the piercing honk of car horns.
I hear the clankety-clang of the commuter train.
I hear the sharp squeek of bad brakes on a car.
I remember the simplicity and quietness of the farm.
I remember the gentle singing sound of the birds.
I remember the muffled sound of the dog barking as he plays with the horses.
I remember the soothing sound of the wind blowing gently through the trees.
I remember the soft tinkle of the wind chimes hanging in the porch.
I open my eyes to see a beautiful woman walking past me...
And suddenly....
The world goes blissfully silent.

Jamie's New World

Jamie's New World

You open your eyes to the brightness of the day
The pup lifts her head as if just to say
"Are you ready mom?"... Can we go out and play?

With a yawn and a stretch, you stand straight and tall
Jump into jammies, with care not to fall
Shuffling your feet, you walk down the hall.

To the kitchen you go, slippers on feet
Coffee is beaconing, its taste is so sweet
A good cup of jo, that nothing can beat.

With cup in hand, you head to the door
You open the first, getting ready for more
A brand new day, a new world to explore.

The birds are chirping, their sounds are so soft
The sun is just up, climbing slowly aloft
The dew of the morning, you get just a waft.

Back to the room, with the sofa and chair
You find the right spot to sit and just stare
At boxes of clothes, cups and glassware.

The move just done was a great deal of work
Even the mover was a bit of a jerk
But it all went quite well, thanks to homework.

You think about your life, the days of the past
Some days were amazing and completely a blast
Others so bad that your glad they've passed.

New sites, new smells, its all just so much
The brokers, the sellers, the money and such
The home is now yours and will soon have your touch.

With hands around cup, you begin just to smile
The old chapter is done, new memories to stockpile
And quickly you realize it was all very worthwhile.

Poem - Sounds of Solace and Comfort

Sounds of Solace and Comfort

The sound of a bird calling out floating gently on the air.

Kids laughing and playing in a playground just over the hill.

The crackling of an open fire pit in a campground in summer.

Waves gently lapping the sandy shoreline off the Florida keys.

The wind dancing and winding through trees of birch and pine.

All sounds that bring solice, memories and comfort to those who hear.

But none of these compare to the words “I love you”,

whispered to me as you begin to fall asleep.

Poem - I Close My Eyes

I close my eyes

I close my eyes and open my mind
its starts with flashes of colors and time.
A mix of images both old and new
some peppered with false, some loaded with true.

Away I go with a flash from the past,
a ride in a valley, our horses galloped fast.
Spending time with you, the sun on our backs,
hearing your laugh, spurred on by wise cracks.

My thoughts leap forward to a January day,
high upon a mountain, it take one's breath away.
We laughed, we smiled, our love grew more,
memories and thoughts we can take to our core.

The mind can jump to days yet to come,
trips to new worlds that would be the envy of some.
Warm embrace on a couch, minutes turn to hours,
A love so strong, it continues to grow like undying flowers.

As my eyes re-open, it leaves me a little blue,
I yearn and I dream and I miss being with you.
I look forward to the day, when together we will be,
in the meantime, I will close my eyes and let my mind run free.

Poem - A Kiss hidden from the World

A kiss hidden from the world

The taste of her neck as she twists her head.
A heavy breath and a soft moan tells me of her escapism.
Her body leaning back being held up by mine.
Legs stretched forward in parellel with my own.
I pull my head back as I kiss the back of her head.
The softness and the smell of her hair makes me close my eyes.
The feel of my arms wrapped around her holding her tight.
The slight chill and the dampness of the evening air are evaded by the warmth being radiated now.
Her cloths are soft, almost silky, covering her body from the sight of the rest of the world.
My arms and my hands feel through softness of her shirt to feel the curves of her body.
Two bodies merged as one, exposing our backs to the world and our smiles to the shadows.
The sounds of laughter, dancing, stories and song are behind us only a handful of feet away.
Hundreds of people enjoying the night air and the drinks as the band fills town with the sounds of street dance.
So close to this party, yet hidden as if on the other side of the earth.
A brillant flash in front of us, the explosion of reds, blues and greens fill the sky.
The crowd of revellers eyes, faces and smiles show the enjoyment of the show.
With each new blast of light, exposes our hidden world.
The bursts and the light illumiate the beauty of her golden hair.
We have been exposed yet still no one sees, our secret safe.
I raise my hand and gently caress her hair as I guide it slowly away from her neck.
Her head moves to the side anticipating another kiss as my lips touch just below her ear.
I raise my lips to start a methodic pattern of movement toward a spot under her chin.
Each fraction of an inch spotted with the mesh of lips to skin.
Her chin comes down, my lips retreat.
Even in the shadows I can see the intoxicating blue color of her eyes.
The first kiss is mear moments away now.
A mix of hestiatation, curiousity and desire blend as one.
Our eyes stare into each others, exposing our very souls.
Darkness is once again around us as close our eyes.
Its a kiss that will be remembered.
Forever to be added to mists of memories.

Poem - My Most Wonderful Day

I decided to post a bunch of my past poems.. .what the heck.

--------------------------

My Most Wonderful Day

Truck after truck pull into the grounds
to stop and claim their place, space all around.
Out on the prairies, they all have come,
each gathering and ready for many days of fun.
Like a splash of red in a sea of blue,
I have left the city and joined this crew.
On a five day trail ride, the cowboys and snuff,
the wagons, the horses, the people and stuff.
I noticed your beauty from across the way,
I realized in an instant, it was my most memorable day.

We met and talked for hour after hour
and found a connection that had such power.
The way we laughed, the stories we shared,
started a romance that few could compare.
Though a thousand miles separated our homes
the love still grew through emails and poems.
Until finally at last and three months have past,
I am flying to see you, my heart beating so fast.
I get to see you and hold you, 6 days I will stay,
I realized once again, it was my most memorable day.

Those days that we shared, the love grew more,
to see your home and your world, so much to explore.
Through hurricanes and loss of power we strived,
by smiles and hugs and laughing we thrived.
We talked for hours lasting well into the night,
shared story after story, it all seemed so right.
A day of fun as we drove to the beach,
with kiss and hugs, we were always in reach.
The time went by fast until we had to part ways,
even with leaving and sadness, it was my most memorable day.

The distance between us has been rather tough,
missing your smile, your touch, it can be pretty rough.
With a love that is strong, we continue our tale
supported through gifts, calls, visits and email.
When days come by that bring me to tears,
I realize of what can be and it quenches my fears.
A future with you and how wonderful that would be,
so many possibilities, its easy to see.
Someday when I am old, I can look back, smile and say,
many times over, with you in my life, it was my most memorable day.
